Celebrating 50 Years of Befriend a Child — A Night to Remember

Friday 30th May 2025 marked an extraordinary milestone in Aberdeen as Befriend a Child celebrated its 50th Anniversary with a spectacular fundraising event — and we at One Design Aberdeen were honoured to attend as the official Print Sponsor.

Hosted at the stunning Chester Hotel and filled with generosity, laughter, and heartfelt stories, the evening was a resounding success — raising just over an incredible £35,600 to support children in need of friendship and guidance right here in Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire.

As Print Sponsor, we were thrilled to contribute to the visual experience of the evening. We proudly delivered:

Over 200 bespoke event programmes.
Custom cut-out signs for photo props and memory shots!
A printed Lucky Square board that kept the games lively and the crowd buzzing.

We danced, we laughed, we reflected — all while celebrating the power of friendship and the lives changed by this remarkable charity.

More Than Just a Night Out

Over the past 50 years, Befriend a Child has supported over 5,500 children in Aberdeen — providing not only friendship but stability, confidence, and hope. To witness their work first hand and be part of this special celebration was deeply humbling. We just can't stop telling people about Befriend A Child!

One Design and Befriend a Child are already in talks about how we can support their next event, the Befriendees and of course, the children on a regular basis. We really do want to promote them as much as possible, as a local charity, supporting local children, this should be known more about within our communities and supporting these children really does make a difference to them.
